Owen O'Keefe River Blackwater swim
Just caught wind of this interesting swim
is doing. Actually, looks like he just finished. Well done, Owen!
. I did finish the swim. It was a total of 60 km (all downstream) and I completed it in 12 hrs 8 mins. Apart from walking down two weirs and taking a few steps over rapids, I followed standard English Channel rules.
can vouch for this as he observed the entire swim.
My report can be found here:

– Owen O'Keefe (Fermoy, Ireland)
Good on you Owen! Congratulations.
Sisu: a Finnish term meaning strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity.
I was one of the many who turned out on the route to see Owen's extraordinary swim.
What would I know, never been further than 10k ....
