Nose Clips.

I cannot exhale through my nose. If I swim without a nose clip I take in water and can't get rid of it. Anyone know as to what to do about it? I can finish swim and go home, rest, then go for dinner with a hot new date (highly improbable) and as I delicately eat my dinner a gallon water gushes from my nose on to my plate.
Are nose clips allowed in official cross channel swims?
