Loch Lomond

It's definitely in the Maybe yes maybe No category at the moment, however myself and a couple of other swimmers are considering Loch Lomond solos in 2015
Why ? It's close to home (180miles) and relatively cheap to organise in comparison to an English Channel swim, it will make a nice change from Windermere, at the outset navigation appears to be pretty much straightforward. It will be a massive challenge to swim 20+ miles and cold freshwater. It is my understanding that only around 50 individuals have completed the swim. Thoughts ??

  • Could you swim Loch Lomond and be home in half an hour? ;)

Do it! Let me know when, if you want others. :)

We're all just carbon, water, starlight, oxygen and dreams

I kayaked Dave Dawson last August up Loch Lomond. He became the first New Zealander to swim it. Time was 12:23. It was warmer in the loch at 18 Celsius than it was out. A great swim!!
